GRANADA`S CATHEDRAL

Initially the building of the cathedral was a gothic project, as it was habitual for Spain`s architecture in the first decades of the 16th century. MONASTERIO DE LA CARTUJA
The Monasterio de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción (assumption), better known as La Cartuja de Granada, is a monastery, which accommodated a community of Carthusian monks from its construction on until 1835. Even if it unites various styles, it represents one of the core buildings of baroque architecture in Spain. |

IGLESIA Y CRIPTA DE FRAY LEOPOLDO DE ALPANDEIRE
Even if born in Alpandeire (Málaga) and become a member of the Capuchin Convent in Seville in 1899, where he stood various years, it was Granada where Fray Leopoldo devoted his life to the poor and realized numerous healings and prophecies, which made him famous and led to his canonization in 2010. “The charitable monk”, as they called him, died in Granada in 1956. Next to the crypt, the Capuchin monks built a small museum dedicated to him, showing a reproduction of his former cell and some of his personal belongings. |

ALBAYZIN
It`s a district to enjoy, to amble along its tiny `calles´ and to uncover things you won`t find in any guide. An entire visit Granada`s obligatorily includes admiring the panoramic view over the district from the Alhambra, for which Granada`s kings built their palace there. The Albayzin is the perfect place to live and enjoy the atmosphere of its bars with tapas and terraces. And if you come just in time, you might get a glance of the amazing view over the glowing Alhambra in the sunset. |

MONASTERIO DE SAN JERONIMO
The origin of the monastery`s construction is to be found in the offering of the Catholic Monarchs towards the three major religious orders (Franciscan, Dominican and Geronimo) to establish themselves in the city. |

THE ALCAICERIA
The Alcaiceria, once been Granada`s grand luxurious bazaar, consisted of more than 200 shops forming a great labyrinth of tiny `calles´. It had ten entries, which were shut with iron chains to avoid the entrance of horses, and was guarded by men to ensure the security of the valuable goods and riches of the Alcaiceria. Today you can find souvenir shops there, offering Granada`s craftsmanship: Colored ceramics known as Fajalauza, embedded wood layers (Taracea) and lamps with colored glasses. All together a great variety of gift ideas. |

MUSEO DE LA MEMORIA HISTORICA DE ANDALUCIA
Opened in 2009, it`s the first museum about Andalusia`s territory, history and culture. You will find yourself in a different museum`s atmosphere, offering diverse audiovisual and interactive equipment allowing multiple options to bring the past nearer.
