Even if born in Alpandeire (Málaga) and become a member of the Capuchin Convent in Seville in 1899, where he stood various years, it was Granada where Fray Leopoldo devoted his life to the poor and realized numerous healings and prophecies, which made him famous and led to his canonization in 2010. “The charitable monk”, as they called him, died in Granada in 1956. Next to the crypt, the Capuchin monks built a small museum dedicated to him, showing a reproduction of his former cell and some of his personal belongings.
